Microsoft's Copilot Vision AI has just received a groundbreaking update, granting it full access to your Windows screen. This means Copilot is now capable of understanding everything you've selected for its analysis – a truly major leap forward for Microsoft's Copilot AI vision. Previously, Copilot was limited to viewing just two applications simultaneously, but now it can seamlessly share your complete screen content. This exciting new Copilot feature is currently rolling out to users enrolled in the Windows Insider program.

In a recent blog announcement, Microsoft officially unveiled this significant update to its Copilot vision AI, enabling it to understand your entire screen's context. The company has aptly named this enhancement "Desktop Share," allowing you to share either your complete desktop screen or a specific window. Microsoft explicitly stated, "or any specific browser or app window," confirming its versatility across various applications. While screen-sharing with AI isn't entirely new in the broader AI landscape, this capability is revolutionary for Windows Copilot users. When you choose to share your designated window or screen, Copilot gains the ability to perceive everything you see and can respond to your queries in real-time. Think of it like sharing your screen with another person and asking questions, but in this case, your intelligent assistant is the recipient, not another human.

How to Access Copilot Vision AI's Desktop Sharing

To experience this powerful Copilot AI feature, you'll need to be part of the Windows Insider program and install the latest Copilot app update (version 1.25071.125 or higher). Once updated, simply click the "glasses" icon located within your Copilot composer. From there, you can easily select the specific window or screen you wish to share with Copilot Vision AI. What’s more, you can now even share your screen with Vision AI as additional context during voice commands, which is sure to streamline your interactions and help the AI provide even more precise answers. When you’re ready to stop sharing your screen with Vision AI, a simple click on the "X" or "Stop" button in the composer will instantly cease the sharing.
