Gmail is finally getting a handy new feature to improve the user experience. The email giant recently introduced a new "Purchases" tab, designed to help you easily manage all your order emails in a single, dedicated location. This helpful new view is rolling out to both the mobile and web applications and will be accessible alongside your other important tabs.
Previously, Gmail's email sections could feel quite messy, making it difficult to find important emails like purchase confirmations or package tracking updates. But now, things have changed. Thanks to the new "Purchases" tab feature, you'll get a clear overview of all your online purchases in one simplified and organized list. This new tab will also show your past orders and purchases, providing a complete history at a glance.
Google also clarified that packages scheduled for delivery within 24 hours will still be prominently displayed at the top of your primary inbox. This is in addition to being shown on the "Purchases" tab as a "summary card." This new addition to the purchase tab is a natural evolution of Gmail's existing package tracking feature, which was initially introduced back in 2022.
This new Gmail purchase tab is now available to all personal accounts globally for both web and mobile users. In a recent blog post, the company stated, "This is an entirely new view that lets you see all purchase-related emails and package updates in one simple, streamlined interface."
Alongside the "Purchases" tab, Google is also introducing a significant update to the "Promotions" category within the Gmail apps. This new update allows you to organize your promotions according to your preference, enabling you to sort them by "most relevant." This update makes it easier to spot offers and updates from brands that matter to you most, including ones you engage with frequently.
For those who prefer to see promotional offers in chronological order, you can easily switch from the "most relevant" category to "most recent." This way, you'll see the latest offers first. "These updates will start rolling out in the coming weeks on mobile to users in their personal Google accounts," Google announced.
