Interestingly, this functionality was already available on older Galaxy devices that were upgraded from One UI 6 to One UI 7, but had been surprisingly absent on devices that launched directly with One UI 7 out of the box. The rollout commenced in Korea last week and has now reached Australia, according to reliable insider Tarun Vats. This significant software update aims to bridge this feature gap and will become widely available across additional regions throughout this week.

This latest software update for the Galaxy S25 series introduces a new notification bar feature in the Now bar, located at the top left corner of the screen. This will display live notifications, such as the progress of media playback – a feature some of you might have already seen on your older updated devices. Users will also gain more control over media playback directly from the pop-up and the notification shade. Alongside bringing this previously missing functionality, the update includes general improvements to device stability.
For users in the Australian region, you can now download this important update by navigating to the Software update menu and selecting "Download and install." This update carries the build number S938BXXU2AYD9/S938BOXM2AYD9/S938BXXU2AYD9 and has a download size of 762.27 MB. If your device matches these details, you should be able to update and finally access this previously elusive One UI 7 functionality.
Please share your region and let us know which of these One UI 7 features you're most excited to finally see on your Galaxy S25 series device in the comments section below!
