A Redesigned Camera Housing Ends 'Edge' Rumors
Today, the new leaked renders by Android Headlines, in collaboration with OnLeaks, solidify the presence of the Galaxy S26 Plus in Samsung's upcoming flagship series. Previously, leaks suggested the introduction of a Galaxy S26 Edge in place of the Plus model. However, this has been contradicted by recent reports, which not only share the demise of the S26 Edge plan but also suggest these last-minute changes led to a delay of the event until February 2026. These recent renders suggest a new design focused on a "Completely Redesigned Camera Housing."
The New Vertical Camera Island

The new vertical camera island in the top-left corner of the back side, suggested by the new leaked renders, clearly indicates the demise of the previous design from its predecessor. The LED flash will sit right next to the camera island, to its right. The renders also clearly suggest the same flat design as its predecessor.
Although this new suggested design is not entirely new in Samsung’s playbook, we’ve already seen a similar design in the latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy S25 Edge, it is expected to be aligned throughout the Galaxy S26 series. This means the vertical island will likely also be present in the S26 base version, S26 Plus, and, obviously, the S26 Ultra.
Sharper Frames and Uniform Bezels
The renders also point to a subtle but significant change in the frame. While the S24 and S25 lines adopted flat sides, the S26 Plus renders show the frame is 'even sharper, with more defined 90-degree corners, moving away from the slightly rounded feel.'
On the front side, the Galaxy S26 Plus is rumored to use the same centered punch-hole camera design on a flat display. The bezels, which are a concern for many Samsung users, appear uniform and minimal in the leaked design. Of course, we will love this if it holds true. The renders also suggest more rounded corners than even its big brother, the S26 Ultra variant.
What About That Orange Color?
Now, you're probably asking: what about the new Orange color shared in the renders? Are we going to see this new color, or is orange the new black?
The answer is likely no. The orange color is probably just for visual representation and is not official. The final colors might be the same as its predecessor. If the orange color does somehow manage to be official, it might be a great selling point for the S26 Plus variant.
The Samsung Galaxy S26+ will reportedly measure 158.4 x 75.7 x 7.35mm. It will be thin, but it won’t be as thin as the Galaxy S26 Edge would have been. Its thickness might bear a resemblance to its predecessor, the S25+.
Why This 'New Look' Might Not Be Final
It is critical to remember that these are early-stage renders, likely based on CAD files or supply chain whispers. They do not come from Samsung.
While the source (OnLeaks) has a strong track record, designs can and do change before mass production. We often see multiple prototypes, and this 'bold' look could be one of several designs Samsung is testing. The final product that launches in late February 2026 might be a more conservative refinement of what we see today.
A New Strategy for Samsung?
If these leaks hold true, this 'new look' signals a clear strategy. After years of playing it safe and differentiating primarily through software and internal specs, Samsung may feel pressure from competitors to make a strong visual statement. And if the Orange color arrives, it could be a straight resemblance to its rival iPhone 17 Pro Max (though this is unlikely). This could be an attempt to re-ignite consumer excitement with a design that is unmistakably new.
