Recent leaked dummy units of the iPhone 17 lineup, circulating online, strongly suggest a significant design evolution for the higher-end models. However, the base model iPhone 17 is expected to retain the familiar design of its predecessors.

Today, reliable leaker Sonny Dickson shared dummy models of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the newly introduced iPhone 17 Air. These leaked dummy units indicate a notable design shift for the Pro and Pro Max models: a redesigned camera module, now extending to the edges of the device. In contrast, the current iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max feature a camera module positioned closer to the lenses and confined to the left side of the rear panel.

Dickson's shared images, showcasing the dummy models from all angles, reveal a slight increase in thickness across the iPhone 17 lineup, with one exception: the iPhone 17 Air. This new model is rumored to boast a remarkably thin profile, with an expected thickness of 5.65mm, potentially surpassing the anticipated thinness of Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge. This development positions Apple as a potential leader in the thinness trend. The leaked dummy units also highlight size variations within the lineup. The iPhone 17 Air is reportedly sized at 6.6 inches, featuring a single rear camera (like on iPhone 16e) within a layout tray similar to other iPhone 17 models, placing it between the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. There's ongoing speculation about a possible size increase to 6.9 inches to match the Pro Max.
