Today, Apple introduced a new 13- and 15-inch MacBook Air with a powerful M3 chip that was introduced in last year's 24-inch iMac. The company claims that the new MacBook Air lineup is 60% faster than its previous chipset-based M1 model and 13 times faster than Intel's. Both the new models are available for pre-order today and will begin shipping on March 8.

The new MacBook Air relies on the latest M3 chip and comes with the same design as the M2 chipset model, but features an upgraded 10-core GPU that boosts graphic performance by 15 percent compared to the M2 model. It comes with exceptional battery life that lasts up to 18 hours on a single charge.

Apple calls the new 13- and 15-inch models 'the world's best consumer laptops for AI' as they come with an M3 chip equipped with a 16-core neural engine 一 capable of handling complex AI tasks without relying on the cloud. The new MacBook Air models can also run optimized AI models that can run natively on the device and produce better and faster results, like faster image generation.

In addition to the M3 chip, both devices feature stunning Retina displays with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, delivering vibrant colors, sharp details and exceptional clarity. The tech giant also adds support for two external displays. The new MacBook Air also prioritizes connectivity and flexibility 一 as it comes with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-C ports, and a MagSafe 3 port for connecting accessories. It also features Wi-Fi 6E, which has faster download speeds and ensures a stable connection in Wi-Fi hotspots, which previous models lacked.

The new Air models are available in four stunning colors: Silver, Space Grey, Gold, and Midnight Blue. Both models come with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. The baseline 13-inch model with the M3 chip starts at $1,099 (U.S.) and the 15-inch model starts at $1,299 (U.S.). You can upgrade their RAM to 24 GB and SSD to 2TB at the time of order (but you'll have to pay extra for this).
