TikTok now offers Android APK download outside of Google Play

In a recent announcement on their official X (formerly Twitter) account, TikTok stated, "U.S. Android users can now download our app." This message underscores the company's commitment to maintaining a connection with its user base during this period of uncertainty. The ban, initially implemented on January 19th, briefly shut down the platform. While a subsequent 90-day reprieve was granted by the new US administration, the app remains unavailable for download through traditional app stores like Google Play.
Despite this extension, neither the App Store nor Google Play has reinstated TikTok downloads for US users. To address this, TikTok has provided clear instructions on its support page, guiding users on how to download the app directly from the official TikTok website. They also offer TikTok Lite, a streamlined version of the app designed for optimized performance and reduced storage usage.
According to TikTok, "We’ve made an Android Package Kit (APK) for TikTok and TikTok Lite available to download on Android devices. TikTok Lite is an app that offers an alternative way to experience TikTok on your mobile device, with fewer features to optimize performance and save storage. You can watch, follow, and interact with creators or create your own posts, but some features such as LIVE and TikTok Shop are not available."
How to Download TikTok APK
