Tired of notification chaos on your iPhone? iOS 18.4's new priority notifications are here to help
The iOS 18.4 introduces Priority Notifications, expanded language support, and integration with Apple Vision Pro, including a new app.
Apple has just released iOS 18.4, bringing much-anticipated updates to its Apple Intelligence platform. This new update is now available for iPhone 16 series, iPhone 15 series , and M1-powered iPads and Macs. The highlight? The introduction of Priority Notifications, alongside expanded Apple Intelligence language support and other valuable features.
On Monday, Apple rolled out the iOS 18.4 update, focusing on enhancing its Apple Intelligence capabilities. The key feature, Priority Notifications, is designed to bring crucial alerts to your attention directly on your home screen. This feature addresses the common frustration of notification overload, especially after the temporary pause of the initial notification summary AI feature due to accuracy concerns.
Furthermore, iOS 18.4 significantly expands Apple Intelligence language support. Aligning with the previous report, as Apple stated in its latest press release, the update now includes French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Simplified), as well as localized English for Singapore and India.
As previously reported, iOS 18.4 also extends Apple Intelligence support to Vision Pro with visionOS 2.4. Users of Vision Pro can now enjoy features like Image Playground, writing tools, Genmoji, and Smart Reply, all seamlessly integrated into the device. Additionally, the Apple Vision Pro App has been introduced, offering easy content downloads and Apple Tips for optimal Vision Pro usage.
This update is being rolled out globally. If your device is eligible, you should see the update available in your settings. If you don't see it immediately, please be patient, as it may take some time to reach all users. To manually check, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update.
